* Electronic Arts - 4 page article on the publisher giant, covering games such as Road Rash, Shock Wave, PGA Tour Golf, FIFA and John Madden Football. Frank Gibeau, the US product manager stated that it takes 12-18 months to produce a title, and they are still learning the 3DO system. (Pages 30-33)
* Namco - Leader Of The Pac - 8 page feature of the Japanese Developer. They talk about developing for the new generation of machines and talk about how risky 3DO is and they don't see them making a profit, however they will continue to develop or them. (Pages 54-61)

He states that they are aiming for a UK launch by the end of spring with Panasonic and one more hardware by year end, he doesn't state which one, but its a "horse race between half a dozen". He states that Sanyos machine hasnt been confirmed for a US launch and AT&T will launch in September, but they have also expressed an interest in the European market, they would launch two machines, one called the "Communication Station" with a built in modem and Voicespan, and one without. He also stated Panasonic are interested in a modem as well. Bob then goes on to discuss the the Cable trial in Nebraska, and that it is going into 10,000 homes, he says the use for it will be downloading games and video on demand. He said the set-top box will not be a standard machine, and will be modified. They then speak about MPEG, Bob confirms Panasonic will be releasing in Spring but hasnt confirmed the date yet. He said he wasnt sure of what games will be the first to use it, but Shock Wave and Road Rash were both running MPEG at CES. He plays down the launch of the 3DO, but does admit they didn't have a strong software line up at launch (Pages 100-102)

  • 3DO: Lower Price Higher Profile - Page and a half article giving an update around the 3DO, It includes mentioning a 2nd Mall Tour in the US, more marketing spend, a price reduction, the MPEG release and also mentions various software titles being released in the coming months. (Also mentions how some Japanese titles wont work on US/UK machines). Lastly it brings up the UK Launch, it states a potential May launch at £500. ZCL will be the distributor, supplying 700 stores across the country. It mentions the UK Shopping Center tour as well as 30-40 titles being available for the machine at launch (even though most if not all will be NTSC so will display in a letterbox format) (Pages 16-17)
