3DO Overview

Frontier Media Group Inc appeared on the original Developer list in 1993, but did not publish or develop any 3DO games.

Overview

Frontier Media Group were a marketing agency that produced CD-Roms of Edutainment, Pharmaceuticals and more. They build sports and event-marketing kiosks which could of been a reason why they were interested in the 3DO. (A cheaper alternative to a PC).

This is taken from their website back in 1997:

"The kind of interaction that solves real-world business problems for our clients — handling everything from concept development to instructional design to content and market research to scriptwriting, media production, programming, testing, fulfillment, and beyond.

Our experience encompasses every significant interactive technology — from digital video to Internet, intranet, and proprietary online services to CD-ROM publishing to kiosk and other place-based media to stand-alone and networked applications. And because we provide all production services — from video origination to computer animation to multimedia programming — we can ensure maximum repurposability of assets across all media formats.

This depth in all of the interactive disciplines — in a field all too populous with "HTML Huts," "Graphix Garages," "Authorware Annexes," and other one-trick-pony stables — gives us particular advantage in producing programs that are visually arresting, content rich, educationally sound, and technically reliable.

And we deploy that advantage across a wide range of industries.

One focus has been the design of advanced interactive tools for the pharmaceutical industry. But our experience extends far beyond this complex and rapidly changing sector to other equally challenging spheres — including consumer edutainment, retail point-of-purchase and related place-based media, and business-to-business applications."

I cannot check the company register but looking at the website (which went down at the end of 1998) the company stop trading as Frontier Media Group in 1999.
