(Product shipped 9/26/96 and reorders are already coming in)

Irvine, CA -- Interplay Productions, Universal Studios Consumer Products Group and The Harvey Entertainment Company announced today that Casper has shipped worldwide for Sony PlayStation, SEGA Saturn and 3DO console platforms. The Casper game features the world-renowned star of the MCA-Universal Pictures/Steven Spielberg-Amblin Entertainment motion picture and top-rated Saturday morning animated series, both entitled Casper.

This challenging, cool action/strategy game has Casper and his Ghostly Trio of uncles haunting over 20 different complex puzzles in hilarious 3D animation. Casper can fly, phase through doors, and funnel through vents, and has the transparent effect that was featured in the movie.

"Casper will gather the whole family together and have everyone wanting to play this puzzle game," said Karen Schohan, Interplay’s director of console marketing. "Casper is a must-have game for all gamers, of all ages."

Players will discover unique and exceptionally humorous means of unpredictable exploration through walls, trap doors and secret passageways in search of hidden clues. Casper also contains hilarious sight gags and mixes in comedic overtones that kids and adults alike will enjoy. Players explore Whipstaff Manor searching for pieces of the Lazarus Machine, which has been dismantled and hidden in various places. During the search players must solve mystifying puzzles, find secret objects and seize lost pieces of the machine which will transfer Casper back to the land of the living.

The animated Casper Television Series on the Fox Kids Network, based on the live-action blockbuster feature film, skewers pop culture, lampoons childhood, and gives afterlife a whole new meaning, as the show follows Casper and his irascible uncles, the Ghostly Trio, along with twelve-year-old Kat and her dad, Dr. Harvey. Together they shake it up in Whipstaff Manor with a host of lovable - and not so lovable - characters. Twenty-six hilarious episodes were produced by Universal Cartoon Studios, Inc. and The Harvey Entertainment Company. Six episodes are available this holiday season from MCA Universal Home Video on two new cassettes for $12.98 each.

"As one of the most-loved and well-known classic properties in the world, Casper has enjoyed continued success over the years," says Nancy Cushing-Jones, president, MCA Publishing Rights. "Our partnership with Interplay further extends the hit property’s appeal by bringing it into homes nationwide."

The Harvey Entertainment Company is engaged in the management and exploitation of its proprietary branded characters, through home video production, animation production, filmed entertainment, merchandising and licensing.

Universal Studios Consumer Products Group licenses and markets properties worldwide on behalf of Universal Pictures and Universal Television, as well as third parties. MCA INC. is a unit of The Seagram Company Ltd., a global beverage and entertainment company.
