Overview
Societa Daikanyama ( Societa ) is the brand name and former company name of Società Ltd., an adult game maker headquartered in Shibuya Ward , Tokyo . In October 2004, the company changed its name to Società Ltd., and changed its business purpose in the commercial registration from computer software-related and real estate rental to various video-related businesses, talent management, and restaurant management . In May 2005 , the company increased its capital.
Founded in June 1990. The company developed X-rated (not for sale to anyone under 18) software for the Sega Saturn , but when the rating was abolished, the company withdrew from home game consoles and focused on adult games for PCs. As of 2006 , the company's main business is selling DVD-PG and UMD-PG .
In 2004 , around the time Societta took over the brand and business from its competitor Active ( Kyoto City ), its executives and their relatives became directors of the non-profit organization Juvenile Guide (whose chairman is the former president of Active). However, despite the organization's claim to be "eradicating adult games," many of the game titles currently being released by Societta contain content that the organization believes should be "eradicated," sparking controversy.
The companies website went offline in 2013 and changed to a Pet Funeral company instead.
