Xiphias appeared on the original Developer list in 1993, but never released or produced a 3DO game.
Overview
Xiphias were an LA based company that started out as a developer of graphics, they then moved into producing education CD-Roms.
History
- 1981 First live computer graphics on TV News (KCBS, Los Angeles, CA)
- 1983 First PC-based high resolution graphic arts system
- 1985 First digital type systems (bitmap) for Postscript™
- 1987 First client for STET's Pagine Gialle Electronica (PGE electronic yellow pages system)
- 1989 First multimedia reference title for CD-ROM, Time Table of Science and Innovation™
- 1991 First reference titles for set-top box (CDTV; a computer designed to look like a VCR and hook up to a television set)
- 1993 First encyclopedia for set-top box (CDTV/CD-I)
- 1994 Best-selling children's CD-ROM (Quicktime and MPEG), Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers
