3DO Overview

Nihon Create Co appeared on the original Developer list in 1993. It never produced any 3DO games.

Overview

NIHON CREATE Co., Ltd. was a computer game development company headquartered in Naniwa-ku , Osaka , Japan . The company's registered name was Nihon Create Co., Ltd. , but because there were many companies with the same name , the brand name was changed to katakana instead of "Nihon."

Although most of their development work is for personal computers , the company also has a track record of developing titles for home game consoles, such as the PlayStation version of " 3×3EYES " (published by Xing , a port of the same title from the PC-9800 series ) and the Nintendo DS version of " High School Baseball Road DS ."

History

It was founded in June 1988 by Itakura Yoshitsugu , who had been developing " Mr. Pro Baseball " at Crystal Soft , and reorganized into a corporation the following year in April 1989. Starting in the PC-8801 era, it released software such as " Yakyudou ." It attracted attention as a rare baseball game at the time from the perspective of a manager. Its breakthrough came with the adventure game "3x3EYES," which was popular at the time. The unique business method of bundling a cel video with the game also attracted attention, and this title became a three-part series. It also released the adventure game "Tenchi Muyo," which was also based on anime and comics.

In 2002, he released Apache Yakyudou, a unique amateur baseball simulation game with a humorous setting and characters. Hikaru Ijuin's obsession with the game was serialized in a column in Famitsu (unusual for a Japanese PC game).

In 2004, they broke new ground with "High School Baseball Girls," a game themed on girls' baseball. They also released the latest installment of the "High School Baseball" series, "High School Baseball 3," and in July 2009, they developed "High School Baseball DS" (published by Spike) for the Nintendo DS.

Unable to absorb development costs and continuing to operate at a loss, the company filed for bankruptcy with the Osaka District Court on March 7, 2019. On March 15 of the same year, the Osaka District Court issued a decision to commence bankruptcy proceedings. The company's legal status was dissolved on November 26 of the same year.
