Company Overview
I found a promo video (below) from a "Smurfswacker" on Lil' Gangster Entertainment, he stated the following:
"Li'l Gangster Entertainment was a boutique shop supplying artwork and animation to computer gaming companies back in the DOS days. The principals were Chris Takami, Stephan Martiniere, Pascal Morelli, and Jay Francis. I served as art director. At the time, the early 1990s, few software companies had in-house art departments. Shops like Lil G supplied publishers with character designs, background art, and animation.
I assembled this video as a promotional reel. Lil G dissolved before the promo was distributed. The reel was created with Autodesk Animator Pro and output as a "flic" file (FLC, the proprietary Autodesk animation format). The flic fit onto two 3-1/2 inch floppy disks. A simple batch file installed the promo flic and Autodesk's player onto the recipient's hard drive, played the flic, then removed itself. Imagine granting strangers that kind of access today! Of course there was no sound. I added the music track some years later.
I regret that with passing years and fading memory I no longer remember the names of much of the talent represented on this reel. Among the character designers were Stephan Martiniere, Pascal Morelli, Istvan "Steve" Felner, Joe Horne, and David Mucci. Gabi Payne, Norland Tellez, and Art Morales did both animation and design. BG's were designed in pencil by several artists, myself included, then painted in acrylics by other artists, including Hector Martinez and Richard Ziehler-Martin. These paintings were scanned (by the client) and converted to 256-color VGA images, usually using Deluxe Paint and Image Alchemy.
The pink box in the final frames covers the original contact information. I'm afraid it's no longer valid."
Digging alitle further, the company seem to cease in 1996 (But only wound up in 2003). Alot of the staff are still in the animation industry, including some directors at Disney.
